Praise be to Allah, who is All Forgiving, He Who accepts repentance, sever in punishment, and prayer and peace on His Messenger Mohamed, his household and companions.

A Muslim is always keen at all times and specially during these blessed days to:

I. Perform prayer in congregation:

Prayer is a major issue in Islam, the Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” The head of the issue is Islam, it is support is prayer and the top of its hump is Jihad in the name of Allah” (reported by Termidhi) . Matter of fact, prayer is the first worship Allah ordained as well as the last advise the Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) gave to his Ummah before his death saying:” Prayer Prayer, and what your right hand possess” (reported by Ahmed). It is also the last thing to be lost in Islam indicating the loss of the whole Deen. The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” Islam loops shall be unties one after the other, at each time one is untied people shall hold tightly to the next one, the first that will be untied is the ruling and the last is prayer” (reported by Ahmed).

Allah made it among the basic conditions of guidance and piety, Allah also exempted people who are puncutual on prayer from holding bad moral and corrupt traits. The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) made abandoning prayer the limit between Islam and Kufr. He said:” The convenant between us and them is prayer, one who abandons it is a non believer) (reported by consensus).

Some people developed an irresponsible attitude towards congregation prayer in the Masjed about which Allah say:” And perform As-Salāt (Iqāmat-as-Salāt), and give Zakāt and bow down (or submit yourselves with obedience to Allāh) along with Ar-Raki‘ūn[2].” (Quran 2: 43). If you ponder carefully on the Ayah, you will realize it is a direct command to participate in congregation prayer. Muslims reported that the Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” A blind man said:” O Messenger of Allah, I don’t have a guide to take me to the Masjed, am I execused to pray at my home? The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said: Are you able to hear the Adhan? He said yes, the Messenger said: then respond”.

Narrated Ibn Abbass may Allah be pleased with both of them:” The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” One who hears the call for prayer and is not kept by an execuse, his prayer shall not be accepted. They inquired what kind of excuse it could be? He said: either fear or illness” (reported by Abi Dawoud). A man asked Ibn Abbass may Allah be pleased with both of them saying:” A man who fasts the day and prays at night, but does not attend Juma`a or congregation prayer. Ibn Abbass replied: he is in hell”. My brothers, be keen to pray in congregation, repent to Allah from negligence, laziness and abandonse of prayer.

II. Avoid company of non believers (Kufar):

The basis in this is to practice Wal-a and Bara-a. Company and friendship with believers and the contrary to the non believers. It is the most sacred bond of faith being one of the deeds of the hearts, yet, it manifests through the use of tongue and senses. The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” One who only loves for the sake of Allah and hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah and prevents for the sake of Allah, shall be perfected his faith” (reported by Abou Daoud).

Ibn TAymiyah may Allah have mercy on him said: In order to implement the testimony of faith (Ash hadu ana la Ilaha ila Allah makes it mandatory to only love and hate for the sake of Allah, only gives support for the sake of Allah, becomes an enemy only for the sake of Allah, to love what Allah loves and hates what Allah hates.

Among the forms of befriendship with Kufar is to adopt their style of appearance (clothing), talking, residence or taking leasure trips to their countries as well as taking them as consultants. Of the widely spread forms is to share or assist in their celebrations, wishing them or attending during their events . In addition to paying them respect, taking their names, express their moral and skills without reference to their corrupted dogma.

III. Observe the value of time:

A believer’s capital in this world is time which he is supposed to invest for the Day After. The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said:” Take Advantage of five things before five others occur:

Your youth before you grow old Your health before you become sick Your wealth before you become poor Your leisure before you become busy Your life before you die” (reported by Al Hakem).

Brothers and sisters, if you do observe a moderate spending manner, time is also just like money, both must be carefully used. Money can be made, saved and invested, contrary to that is time. We advice you to observe and invest your time just as Allah commanded “And I (Allāh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).” (Quran 51: 56)

Imam Nawawi said: This Ayah serves as a direct statement that they were only created for worship. Therefore, they must be concerned with the purpose of their creation, maintain an eremitic attitude for this world is not an eternal adobe only a transit stop.

Allahum improve us and all Muslim Ummah, (They say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.” And prayer and peace be upon our Prophet Mohamed, his household and companions.
