Rulings of Sacrifice (Hady) :
- Based on Quran and Sunnah, Hady is mandatory for Haj (Wajeb).
- Hady must be from the farm animals such as camels, cow or lamb.
- However, for each kind of animals a certain age to make it qualified as Hady.
- One eyed, blind, ill and meager animals are not acceptable as Hady just like the sacrifice.
- The Hady must be slaughtered within the boundaries of the Haram.
- Seven people can contribute to one camel or cow while a lamb suffices only one person.
- One is allowed to delegate others to slaughter the Hady. Also institutions working in this field can be sought.
- According to the Sunnah, it is recommended for one to eat from his/her slaughtered animal.
- The difference between Hady (sacrifice) and Fady (ransom):
- The Hady is slaughtered when one applies in Haj either Tamatu` or Qiran (which is to take the intention of performing Haj and Ummrah. But one releases the Ehram after Ummrah and takes it back for Haj in the former while remains in the status of Ehram between the Haj and Ummrah in the latter).
- While slaughtering a Fady (ransom) is to make up for violating a Haj restriction.
- One is allowed to eat from Hady but not from Fady. Therefore, one must pay for what he/she ate of Fady.
- A woman is entitled just like the man to slaughter her Hady herself. Even if she was mensturating or having a post natal bleeding.
- Rulings of Hady apply on children of both genders.
