Rulings of leadership (Imara) in traveling.

1- It is from Sunnah to have a leader when traveling (Ameer).

2- Q: who is the appropriate person for leadership (Imara).

A:

• One who has knowledge in what is halal and haram.

• He must be wise which will prevent him from bad deeds and actions with his companions.

• He must be intelligent and shrewd in order not to be deceived from his companions or others.

• He must be religious and patient as well as compassionate with those accompanying him, and must have

preference towards others concerning food, and he must adjoin the hearts of those accompanying them.

3- Being an ameer does not mean that he has full leadership over them.

4- This Imara has a beginning and end, it begins with the inception of the trip and ends by its end.

5- If a group traveled and did not appoint an ameer over them then they are against the Sunnah. A number of hadeeth even though da’eef: indicate that Shaytan becomes their ameer, so what kind of a group is that who has shaytan is their ameer.

6- There is no obeying to any human being if it is a disobedience to Allah our Creator.

7- Q: if the Ameer orders his group to leave a matter that is Mustahab (liked) will they obey him?

A: if this order is in the benefit of the group then he is to be obeyed and that is in order to unite the group, otherwise no.
